The Jackson defender’s contributions are hard to sum up with stats, but his resume is impressive. He was named the Class 3 District 1 defensive player of the year and was lauded as a leader on the back line by an opposing coach.
Dobbelare was a standout star in goal. He recorded 17 shutouts and was named all-region goalkeeper of the year for the Pirates, who advanced to the Class 2 quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
Hay made a big impact for the Bulldogs from his forward position. He scored 14 goals and racked up 11 assists for Sikeston while being named to the all-conference, all-region and all-state teams.
Hernandez, an all-region team member, did his part to help Perryville complete its most successful season to date by scoring 17 goals, including one in the Pirates lopsided sectional game win, and recording 11 assists.
Notre Dame junior
Parsons scored nine times and had six assists from his midfielder position. His importance was highlighted in the Bulldog’s come-from-behind win over Central in the regular season. He scored one goal and then assisted on another minutes later in a 2-1 win.
