2024 Boys Tennis Finalists
Michael Bogdanovich
Notre Dame
After suffering an injury that kept him out most of his freshman season, Bogdanovich returned to Notre Dame for Year 2 and dominated singles competition as a sophomore. He reached the state playoffs and, despite an early exit, brought some hardware back to Notre Dame.
Lawson Blocker & Cooper Worley
Dexter
The duo of Blocker and Lawson were state qualifiers for the Dexter Bearcats and first-place winners in the doubles division at the Poplar Bluff Invitational.
Charlie West & Thomas Southard
Notre Dame
A pairing of some of Notre Dame’s top overall talent, two-time winner Charlie West and Thomas Southward made a big push as seniors to get the Bulldogs deep into the playoffs. Bowing out both as a team and a double in the quarterfinals, headed one of the region’s top tennis squads.
Matthew Austin & Blake Schreckenberg
Notre Dame
A junior-senior combination, with the younger Austin taking the reins as Notre Dame’s No. 2 man, this doubles matchup made for one of Southeast Missouri’s best over the spring. Helped massively in the playoff push as Notre Dame reclaimed its local respect.
Tavian Towns
Poplar Bluff
Senior Tavian Towns led the Poplar Bluff Mules tennis team to a 10-3 record. He finished second in this year’s Semo conference tournmanset and helped the Mules snag second in the Class 2 District 1 championship.
