Part of a Jackson team that diced up area competition, John-Paul Sauer made his full return from an ACL tear early in the 2024 spring season, returning to top form as Jackson’s top arm in a talented rotation. He shut out Dexter over six innings in a 5-0 victory to claim the SEMO Conference championship in April.
Dalton Forck

he high school baseball fans throughout Southeast Missouri didn’t catch a glimpse of the true potential on the mound from Kelly High School senior pitcher Dalton Forck this spring after he suffered a strained rotator cuff injury in early March. The injury limited his playing time in the Hawks postseason run, but the Three Rivers College commit recovered to return to the mound this summer with the Southeast Tropics.
Max Vogel
Cape Central
Following two surgeries with nine months for a torn meniscus and broken ankle and some torn ligaments, Vogel returned to the hardwood as one of the starting five for the Cape Central basketball team.
Kaetlyn Danley
Holcomb
A three-sport athlete, Danley suffered a broken ankle during the third volleyball match of the season. Following eight weeks on the bench, she returned to the team and helped her team compete all the way to the finals, and win its second straight district volleyball title.
Abby Wilson
Poplar Bluff
After completion of her freshman year of basketball, Wilson went down with an ACL tear in her left knee. Following a six month rehab process post surgery, Wilson returned to the court only to be sidelined again with ACL tear in the other knee along with other injuries that required a second surgery. After another lengthy rehab process, she returned again to the court and has now signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Missouri Valley College.
