2023 Boys Swimming and Diving Finalists
Phineas Theall
Cape Central
Theall received All-State honors for the second straight year at the Class 1 state swimming championships. He qualified at seventh in the 200-free and beat his prelim time by a half second, finishing the race in 1:45.25.
Wade LaValle
Jackson
LaValle had the Indians' best finish, placing 23rd in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:05.02. His time was nearly two full seconds faster than his previous season best. He was also apart of the quarter that swam the 200 and 400-yard freestyle relays which finished 28th (1:39.70) and 27th (3:43.05).
Tim DeYong
Jackson
DeYong was also a part of the quartet with LaValle that swam in the 200 and 400-yard freestyle relays. DeYong was also a part of the 200-yard medley relay that finished 24th. He was also the conference champion in the 100-meter backstroke.
Carson Todd
Poplar Bluff
Todd won the SEMO Conference title in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle events and was a member of the 200- and 400-meter relay teams that won conference titles. Todd also was a state qualifier in the 100-meter freestyle and swam with the Mules' 200- and 400-meter relay teams at the Class 1 state meet.
Tom Hasz
Saxony Lutheran
Hasz finished second in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles at the SEMO Conference Meet. Hasz also was a part of a relay that took 2nd in the Rec Center Relays at the SEMO Aquatic Center.
