2023 Girls Soccer Finalists
Justi Nelson
Jackson
Nelson was a dynamic piece of the Indians’ attack in 2023 and was a major contributor in the Indians’ run to the state quarterfinals. Nelson will continue her soccer career at Southeast Missouri State University.
Emilia Wunderlich
Jackson
Wunderlich was an anchor on the back line for the Indians and was one of the unsung heroes in the success Jackson had in 2023. Wunderlich will continue her soccer career at Mineral Area College.
Anna Mueller
Saxony Lutheran
Mueller was one of the two senior leaders for the Crusaders in 2023. She played a key role in anchoring the back line and helped propel the Crusaders to third-place in Class 1.
Ava Perry
Saxony Lutheran
The other half of the Crusaders’ senior duo, Perry also brought vital leadership on top of consistent and stellar play on the field. Perry is sure to be missed on the field by the Crusaders in 2024.
Demi Drum
Cape Central
Drum was the lone senior on the Tigers’ roster in 2023 and she was tasked with leading while also being the team’s goalkeeper. Drum earned high praise from her coach, Duncan McKinley about her on-the-field abilities as well as her leadership.
Lana Adams
St. Vincent
Adams was a dynamic goal scorer for the Indians in 2023 and she was a key piece to the run the Indians made to the state quarterfinals. Adams, just a freshman, is sure to be a key piece and a top player in her conference as the years go on.
Kristen Grogan

The junior earned all-district honors after finishing with 10 goals and four assists this past season.
Olivia Carda-Smith
Poplar Bluff
Carda-Smith helped the Lady Mules to a 12-8 record while going 7-2 in their final games. After suffering multiple injuries at the beginning of the season, Carda-Smith returned and led the Lady Mules on a six-game winning streak. She recorded 20 goals with many assists and had one of her best games this season against Sikeston with six goals.
Nevaeh Larkins
Poplar Bluff
Poplar Bluff High senior Nevaeh Larkins had a lot to do with the Lady Mules’ soccer 12-8 record this past season. As captain of the team, Larkins rallied her team back with a solid winning streak after a rocky start to the season. She averaged almost 11 stops a game and was responsible for the Lady Mules’ 11 shutouts this season.
Kristin Anderson
Notre Dame
Anderson was a dynamic threat for the Bulldogs who could do a little bit of everything on the field. Anderson helped lead Notre Dame to a 14-7-2 record in 2023 that fell short in the Class 4 District 1 semifinals. Anderson will go on to play soccer at Southeast Missouri State University.
