2023 Boys Soccer Finalists
Will Dodson
Notre Dame
Dodson was a key player for the Bulldogs as they made a run to the state quarterfinals. Dodson scored many big goals for the Bulldogs while also playing a leadership role.
Tim Kirby
Cape Central
Kirby has been an integral part of the Tigers program and 2022 was no different as Kirby helped elevate the Tigers to a 19-4-1 record with his goal scoring ability.
Josh McClendon
Sikeston
The center-back finished the season with eight goals and two assists while primarily focusing on the defensive side of the field this season. McClendon served as a captain this past season and was a positive example for the underclassmen on the team. McClendon was a big part of the Bulldogs improving their win total each year of his high school career.
Aaron Zoellner
Saxony Lutheran
Zoellner proved to be one of the top goalkeepers in the area as his ability to stifle opponents helped carry the Crusaders to a 15-11 season and a 4th place finish at Class 2 State.
Jace Boland
Saxony Lutheran
Boland’s ability to find the back of the net was able to complement Zoellner’s goalkeeping as the Crusaders rolled in the postseason.
Carson Adams
Perryville
Adams was one of two seniors for the Pirates in 2022 and he had a big part in the 15-10 season the Pirates had. Adams is sure to leave a void in the Pirates lineup in 2023.
Cole Bruenderman
Notre Dame
Bruenderman was also a key player alongside Dodson as the two had a unique connection that saw them setting each other up for goals game in and game out. Bruenderman was effective for the Bulldogs and played a big role in their 17-7-1 season.
Tad Couch
Cape Central
The senior goalkeeper had a massive year for the Tigers in net providing stability and timely saves that propelled the Tigers to a 19 win season.
Sam Cairns
Cape Central
Cairns, a senior, was a vocal leader for the Tigers in 2022. Cairns was a solid defender as well helping limit opposing scoring chances over the course of the Tigers’ successful season.
Max Richey
Saxony Lutheran
Richey’s biggest impact came on both sides of the ball. RIchey was able to score his fair share of goals while also providing solid defense when the Crusaders needed it most.
