2022 Football Defense Finalists
Quintral Clay
Hayti
Clay earned first-team All-State honors in Class 1 and was named to the Class 1 All-Region team. In addition, Clay received SEMO South All-Conference honors as both a running back and a linebacker.
Tony Terry
Jackson
The junior defensive end imposed his will on most offenses the Indians faced in 2021, earning SEMO North All-Conference honors and being named to the Class 5 All-Region team.
Ty Powers
Kelly
Powers ended his football career by being named to the Class 2 All-State second team as a defensive back. The Hawks’ senior earned SEMO South All-Conference and Class 2 All-Region honors as both a kicker and DB.
Latrevion Thompson
Kennett
Thompson — a SEMO commit — won the Derland Moore Award which is presented annually to the SEMO Conference’s best defensive player and received second-team All-State honors in Class 3. In addition he was named to the SEMO Central All-Conference and Class 3 All-Region teams in 2021.
Jalias Anderson
Malden
Anderson was a finalist for the Derland Moore Award after recording 125 total tackles in just 7 ˝ games. He earned Class 1 third-team All-State honors and was named to both the SEMO South All-Conference and Class 1 All-Region teams.
Ken King
New Madrid County Central
King led the Eagles secondary in 2021, earning third-team All-State honors in Class 2 while also being named to the SEMO Central All-Conference and Class 2 All-Region teams.
Jamain Golden
New Madrid County Central
Golden anchored New Madrid’s defensive line, earning third-team All-State honors in Class 2 and was also honored by being selected to the Class 2 All-Region and SEMO Central All-Conference teams on both offense and defense.
Hunter Jenkins
Poplar Bluff
Jenkins was a Class 5 All-State third-team selection and was also named a finalist for the Derland Moore Award. He finished his football career with Class 5 All-Region and SEMO North All-Conference honors.
Alex Winsor
Portageville
Winsor helped lead the Bulldogs to their first winning season since 2015, earning third-team All-State honors in Class 1 along the way. In addition, the senior was named to the Class 1 All-Region and SEMO South All-Conference teams on both offense and defense.
Logan Speakman
Scott City
The senior defensive back received second-team All-State honors in Class 1. He was named to the SEMO South All-Conference team as well as the Class 1 All-Region team on both offense and defense.
