2022 Girls Cross Country Finalists
Gabby Brown
Dexter
Brown won an SCAA Conference championship and a fifth-place finish in the SEMO Conference meet. She finished her senior season with a second-place finish in the Class 3 District 1 meet and a 19th-place finish at state.
Kylie Hampton
Ellington
Hampton earned Class 1 All-State honors with a 19th-place finish and won the Black River Conference title. The junior took sixth in the Big Springs Conference and ninth in Class 1 District 1.
Addie Heisserer
Jackson
Heisserer was the Indians’ top finisher in the Class 5 State Championships, taking 42nd place. She finished 11th in the Class 5 District 1 meet and claimed the SEMO Conference championship.
Mallorie Metzger
Jackson
Metzger finished third in the SEMO Conference meet and earned All-District honors with a 17th place finish at the Class 5 District 1 meet. She finished her junior campaign with a 53rd place finish at the Class 5 State Championships.
Lauen Eftink
Notre Dame
Eftink earned All-State honors, finishing 22nd in the Class 4 State Championships. The sophomore took second place in the SEMO Conference meet and received All-District honors with a seventh-place finish in the Class 4 District 1 meet.
Kastin Cleaver
Van Buren
Cleaver began her varsity cross country career by winning a Class 1 District 1 championship, taking second place in the Big Springs Conference meet and earning All-State honors with a third-place finish at the Class 1 State Championships.
Katie Griffin
Van Buren
Griffin took first place in the Big Springs Conference meet and came in just behind teammate Kastin Cleaver in the Class 1 District 1 meet and Class 1 State Championships, finishing second and fourth, respectively.
Kinsley Murphy
Van Buren
Murphy earned All-State honors with a 12th-place finish in the Class 1 State Championships. The sophomore took home fifth place in the Class 1 District 1 meet and fourth place in the Big Springs Conference meet.
Kinslee Van DerMierden
Leopold
The junior Wildcat earned All-State honors with a eighth-place finish at the Class 1 State Championships. VanderMierden finished fourth at the Class 1 District 1 meet and took second place in the Heartland Conference.
Emilee Rouggly
Woodland
The Woodland senior won the Heartland Conference championship by 20 seconds, and earned All-District honors with a seventh-place finish at the Class 2 District 1 meet. Rouggly finished 33rd in the Class 2 State Championships.
