2018 Boys Swimming and Diving Finalists
Brogan Davis
Cape Central, Senior
Davis took home four gold medals at the state championship meet, winning individual titles in the 200-yard individual medley and 100 butterfly and helping Central’s 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay squads to championships. Davis was named the state meet’s MVP and earned All-America honors. He will continue his swimming career at Auburn University.
Sam Hahs
Cape Central, Senior
Hahs helped Central’s 200-yard medley relay team to a state championship and individually finished second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 individual medley at the state meet; he helped the 200 freestyle relay to a second-place result. The two-time Semoball Awards nominee was the SEMO Conference Meet Co-MVP and signed to continue swimming at IUPUI.
Hyrum Dickson
Cape Central, Junior
Dickson was a key piece of Cape Central’s second consecutive state championship team, as he competed at the state meet and finished third in the 50-yard freestyle and was a part of the first-place 400 free relay team and second-place 200 free relay team. He set a SEMO Conference Meet record and was co-MVP at the conference competition.
Jacob Bening
Cape Central, Sophomore
Bening took home four gold medals as the Tigers won the team title at the Class 1 state meet, including an individual championship in the 100-yard freestyle. He also helped a pair of relay squads to top finishes in the state: the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. This is Bening’s second appearance as a Semoball Awards finalist.
Daniel Seabaugh
Cape Central, Sophomore
Seabaugh helped Central to a second straight team state title with four top-three finishes at the state meet. Individually, he was second in the 500-yard freestyle and third in the 200 free, and in relay events he helped the Tigers to gold in the 400 free relay and silver in the 200 free relay.
