2016 Girls Track and Field Finalists
Danitra Jones
Charleston, senior
The Blue Jay sprinter had a great day at the Class 2 state championship meet, claiming the crown in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.55 and landing as runner up in the 200. She was also all-state in the 400 and 800 relays.
MaKayla Waldner
Dexter, senior
A standout in three sports, Waldner capped things off int he spring with a great track campaign, taking a Class 3 state title in the 300-meter hurdles (43.61) as well as well as third-place finishes in the 100 hurdles and long jump. She was the district champ in all three events, and sectional winner in both hurdle events. She also qualified for state in the 200.
Katie Schumer
Jackson, sophomore
Still just a sophomore, Schumer took home a conference championship with a pole vault mark of 11 feet. She went on to qualify for the Class 5 state meet in the event, where she finished fifth with a mark of 10 feet, 9 inches.
Krisman Eakin
Poplar Bluff, sophomore
One of a pair of standout twins for the Mules, Eakin ran at the Class 4 state championships in three events, finishing eighth in the 200 and grabbing a pair of fourth-place relay results in the 400 and 800 relays. She was a conference champion in the 200 and 400, and finished second in the 100.
Antravia Green
Sikeston, junior
Green proved she is one of the top sprinters in Class 4 after finishing third in last year’s 100. This time around she matched that result, finishing in 12.30, and added a third-place finish in the 200 to her resume.
