2016 Golf Finalists

Brian Whitson

Whitson has made a major impact on the Hornet golf program. In 2016, the all-state golfer shot a 75 to finish second in a rain-shortened Class 1 state tournament and was the medalist in the Class 1 sectional tournament, leading Advance to a team title. He had five total medalist finishes, and will continue his career at John A. Logan College.

Kobe Franklin

Franklin put together an all-state season, finishing tied for 7th in a rain-shortened Class 3 tournament in which he shot a 77 over one round. He was third in the large-school division of the SEMO Conference Tournament, shooting a 76.

Ethan Stevens

A multi-sport standout, Stevens was an all-state golfer in 2016 for Dexter. The senior Bearcat finished tied for 7th in the Class 3 state tournament with a 77 and was a sectional champion. He finished third, with a 76, in the SEMO Conference Large School Tournament.

Jack Litzelfelner

When Litzenfelner hit the course in the postseason he made his presence felt, earning an all-state finish and a Class 3 championship after finishing tied atop the leaderboard with a 70 after one round of a rain-shortened event. He shot a 68 to win the large-school division of the SEMO Conference tournament.

Nathan Woolard

The sophomore Mule was the medalist at the Notre Dame Invitational, finished in the top 10 of the large-school division of the SEMO Conference tournament and finished tied for 15th at the Class 4 state tournament.
