2016 Boys Cross Country Finalists
Peyton Ford
Zalma, junior
Ford hit his stride toward the end of the season, posting his best times in postseason races. He placed second at the district meet with a time of 17:11 before following it up with an all-state finish at the Class 1 state meet, finishing fifth in 17:18.09.
Levi Krauss
St. Vincent, senior
Krauss was the top runner on an Indians team that finished second in Class 1. He finished third at the state meet with a time of 17:03.11 and was crowned district champion with a time of 17:01. He also placed 14th at the conference meet in 17:18.44.
Rudy McClellan
Notre Dame, junior
McLellan finished among the best in a number of meets this season, perhaps none more important than a pair of first-place finishes at the Cape Central Invitational (17:08.80) and the SEMO Conference meet (17:01.42). He also took fifth at the district meet in 16:35.
Alex Philipps
Jackson, senior
Philipps was one of two Jackson boys runners who qualified for state and was a second-place finisher at the conference meet (17:36.40). He took eighth at the district meet in 17:17.06 and wrapped up his high school career by finishing 91st at the Class 4 state meet in 17:25.21.
Isaiah Williams
Poplar Bluff, senior
A Semoball Awards finalist last year, Williams battled through an ankle injury all season but placed third at the conference meet in 17:43. He improved that mark with an 11th-place finish at the district meet in 17:24.
