2015 Softball Finalists

Valerie Bahr

Bahr started at shortstop and batted .500 for the Rams, who advanced to the Class 1 spring quarterfinals but were eliminated by eventual state champion Kennett. Bahr also had 21 RBIs and 16 extra-base hits, including two home runs.

Alexis Dock

The defending Semoball Awards Softball Player of the Year returns as a finalist this year. Dock was 14-2 as a starting pitcher and had 101 strikeouts and 28 walks in 104 innings of work with a 1.71 ERA. She also helped herself at the plate with a .479 batting average and 28 RBIs.

Mallorie Maintz

Maintz batted .341 to lead the Indians’ offense. She had a team-leading 24 RBIs and was named first team all-district and all-conference and second team all-region. A starter at first base, Maintz finished with six home runs on the year.

Maggie Shepherd

Shepherd was an all-region selection and led the Bulldogs with a .522 batting average and a .587 on-base percentage. She racked up 34 RBIs and had four home runs with a .900 slugging percentage.

Summer Shockley

Shockley batted .409 with six triples, three home runs and 60 RBIs in the spring and fall seasons combined. She was 33-8 as a starting pitcher and had a 1.58 ERA with 361 strikeouts and 88 walks in 230 innings of work.

Taylor Tiffany

Tiffany had a 23-6 record as a starting pitcher and wrapped up her junior campaign with a state-record 391 strikeouts and a 0.597 ERA. She batted .333 with 30 RBIs and helped lead the Bulldogs to a third-place finish in Class 2.

Shayna Tharp

Tharp was 16-8 as a starting pitcher with a 1.28 ERA and helped lead the Eagles to an appearance in the Class 1 fall sectionals. She struck out 204 batters and batted .372 with 19 doubles, eight triples and one home run.

Maddie Urhahn

Urhahn had a batting average of .371 and played first base and third base for the Bulldogs, who advanced to the Class 3 sectionals but were eliminated by eventual state champion De Soto. She had 20 RBIs and three home runs on the year.

Logan Vaughan

Vaughan batted .500 and was a starting shortstop on an Indians team that won its second consecutive Class 1 spring championship. She finished with a team-high 32 RBIs and had 12 extra-base hits, including three home runs.

Riley Washburn

Washburn batted .439 in leading the Tigers to a spot in the Class 2 quarterfinals. She had a team-high 54 RBIs and nine home runs as a starting third baseman and also added 12 doubles and three triples.
