2023 Girls Cross Country Finalists
Lauren Eftink
Notre Dame
Junior Lauren Eftink became a repeat All-Stater for the Bulldogs, only the third girl in the program's history to be All-State more than once. She ran 19:26.7 to take 11th place.
Kinslee VanderMierden
Leopold
VanderMierden ran 21:44.9 to finish in 19th place and locked up her third All-State medal in four trips. She was 10th as a sophomore and took eighth last year.
Kendal Marshall
Oak Ridge
The Oak Ridge girls were seventh overall in the Class 1 race, led by junior Kendall Marshall, who ran 23:48.8 to place 64th. As a junior, Marshall aims to lead the Blue Jays back to trophy contention in Class 1.
Faith Rouggly
Woodland
Rouggly wrapped up a successful debut season by taking 16th place. She finished in 20:44.8 and was in All-State contention – top 25 – throughout the race.
Ella Harris
Bernie
Just a freshman, Harris finished 12h at the Class 1 state meet with a time of 21:24.9, right after she placed fourth at the Class 1 District 1 meet with a time of 20:39.58.
Kastin Cleaver
Van Buren
A sophomore, Cleaver took 11th place at the Class 1 state meet with a time of 21:24 and also finished as the Class 1 District 1 runner-up with a time of 20:23.02. Cleaver and classmate Ziah Been also were key members of a Lady Dawgs squad that brought home a state runner-up trophy back in the fall.

A sophomore, Been finished 17th at the Class 1 state meet with a time of 21:43.5 and also took seventh at the Class 1 District 1 meet with a time. 21:17.21. Been and classmate Kastin Cleaver also were key members of a Lady Dawgs squad that brought home a state runner-up trophy back in the fall.
Emma Niedbalski
Jackson
Freshman Emma Niedbalski finished 18th with a time of 20:12.40 in the class 5 district meet to qualify for the state meet. Niedbalski played a big role in Jackson’s success and will continue to do so down the road.
Molly Turner
Notre Dame
Turner earned a trip to state with a 15th-place finish in districts to join teammate Lauren Eftink. Turner, a senior, wraps up her career by competing in the state meet
Katelyn Nichols
East Carter
Just a freshman, Nichols took sixth at the Class 2 District 1 meet with a time of 21:08.76, then finished 32nd at the Class 2 state meet with a time of 21:48.7 for the Lady Redbirds.
