After a poisonous spider bite led to dead tissue being surgically removed, Campbell returned and was a key player for the girls tennis team in the No. 2 singles position.

After a torn ACL ended her junior season, Allstun returned to the basketball court this winter and averaged 12 points and six rebounds as Jackson advanced to the Class 5 quarterfinals.
Noah Burkey
Poplar Bluff baseball
The baseball player suffered a concussion after his own foul ball hit him during a game. Burkey was later cleared to return and came back to play for the Mules.
Scout Pettit
Jackson boys track and field
Pettit was hit by a car while running down Jackson Boulevard on Feb. 1 and thrown about 15 feet into the air. He returned and in May advanced out of district in Class 5 track and field.
Ryder Boles
Dexter boys tennis
Boles was diagnosed with cancer in the summer, before the start of school. He was able to come back and play junior-varsity boys basketball and varsity boys tennis.
